The Ridgeway Trail

Get yourself outside and take yourself on a lovely stroll along what’s popularly known as “Britain’s Oldest Road”. The Ridgeway is 87 miles of beautiful landscape, starting in Avebury and coming to an end at Ivinghoe Beacon. In days gone by, this trail would’ve been used by tradespeople and soldiers alike, however, nowadays it’s home to keen hikers and cyclists looking for a bit of escape. Of course, this route is open to be taken all year round, however, in the Spring you can really experience the beauty of hundreds of bluebells sprouting all around you.

What’s more, is that The Ridgeway Trail is dog-friendly, so you can bring along your waggy-tailed friend when you stay at our dog-friendly hotel in Swindon.
