Coate Water
If you’re a fan of stunning lakes, Coate Water is the ideal Swindon attraction for you. There is an enormous reservoir which was constructed in 1822 to replenish the Wilts & Berks Canal, however, this was abandoned. Soon after this, the reservoir simply became a stunning centrepiece. Also, enjoy the Art Deco diving platform which was erected in 1935. Use the bird hides to get a better look at the stunning wildlife which inhabits the area. If you have little ones, take them to the splash park in the summer and hire a BBQ out for the day. If you’re staying at Alexandra House, don’t miss out on seeing this beautiful attraction.
What’s more, is that Coate Water is dog-friendly, so you can bring along your waggy-tailed friend when you stay at our dog-friendly hotel in Swindon.
This is also one of our favourite dog walks in Swindon!
